A ‘ductless mini split’ is a type of air conditioner made up of two main components: an outdoor compressor and an indoor evaporator. With a mini-split AC unit isn’t any ductwork to install! How does a mini-split work?
Refrigerant lines connect directly from the compressor to the evaporator, which is mounted on a wall in your home. Outside air is conditioned by the compressor and flows through the refrigerant line directly to evaporator where it is released into the home at your desired temperature.
Can I condition my whole home with a mini-split?
Mini-splits are typically designed to conditioning one room or floor, depending on size. However, several evaporators can be connected to a connected to a single, more powerful compressor to provide heating and cooling to the whole house.
